I have been working on improving my paintings and finding ways to represent trees and foliage which are enjoyable and capture the look and feel of a place; I don't really intend to represent actual plants but try to make variations to make my vegetation look interesting and colourful.
The rock rose ( cistus) is a favourite flower though so I include it when possible, I first read about it in a book by Gertrude Jekyll, she describes how it is best is large sweeps along a woodland glade so, when I painted a glimpse of her home, Munstead Wood, I added lots of them !
